Testimonials

"Sue has helped me with work related stress, weight management and confidence all with hypnotherapy online. I highly recommend her! The results have been more than I expected."

N.C. North East England

"I can't recommend Sue and EFT enough. The results were unbelievable. Due to a traumatic childhood experience at the dentist, I was terrified of going and hadn't been for years. I had 2 sessions of EFT with Sue and yesterday sat in the dentist chair for an hour and had a filling and tooth out and felt "calm and safe" (my mantra). Be open to possibilities, you're stronger than you think. It works I am so proud of myself. Thank you Sue, couldn't have done it without you!"

"Sue had mentioned EFT as part of our ongoing sessions focusing on my anxiety. Anxiety makes it extremely difficult for me to focus my mind and stay in the moment, and EFT sounded like something that could help with that. Even after the first try, I was astounded by how effective EFT was for me. For the first time in a long while, I was in a space of 'quiet and calm,' a feeling that it felt like I'd forgotten. It was awesome. Thank you so much, Sue."

FAQs

Q. What is clinical hypnotherapy?

A. Clinical hypnotherapy harnesses the power of your imagination, often while in a deep state of relaxation. Your subconscious knows the source of your problems, what keeps you stuck, and also your unacknowledged potential. It is recognised by the scientific community as an effective tool for healing with an evidence base of over 70,000 research references globally.

It is used to treat a wide variety of psychological and emotional symptoms and issues, just some of which include:

  • Anxiety
  • Asthma
  • Confidence/self-esteem
  • Chronic pain
  • Fears and phobias
  • High blood pressure
  • Insomnia/sleep problems
  • IBS
  • Menopause
  • Migraine
  • Motivation
  • Panic
  • Public speaking
  • Smoking cessation
  • Self-development
  • Spiritual development
  • Sports performance
  • Stress
  • Weight issues

Q. Will I lose control, or will you make me cluck like a chicken?

A. Only if you want me to! Seriously, your personal needs and beliefs will be wholeheartedly and fully respected. All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis. It is a voluntary altering of your own consciousness, and such states occur spontaneously in daily life. For example, while daydreaming, driving on autopilot, being absorbed in a book or film, performing a routine task, or even boredom.

Q. Will it work for me?

A. Research has found that the majority of people can be hypnotised, with the best results being experienced by those with a good imagination and the ability to get lost in a game, book, TV programme. Motivation to change is key. And hypnotherapy can help with motivation too, for example, if there are important reasons or health is at stake.

Q. What is EFT?

A. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a complementary self-healing tool that we can use together within a counselling session, if it feels right for you. It uses your body's natural stress reduction points, as in acupressure and acupuncture, to produce rapid change. Stimulating these points while focusing on current difficulties or challenging past experiences has been scientifically demonstrated to quickly reduce depression, anxiety, and phobias. EFT can also potentially improve mood, boost vitality and positivity, and impact work or sports performance. It can also be applied to other common conditions e.g. pain*, fears, addictions**, cravings, weight management, insomnia, and guilt.

*Pain – consultation required with your medical professional beforehand and not recommended if there have been recent changes to mediation or symptoms.

** Addiction – not recommended in circumstances where sever withdrawal symptoms can be experienced e.g. opioids or sometimes alcohol, i.e. if physical dependence is present.

Q. But what if I have ADHD?

A. Some research suggests that people with ADHD are superb candidates for hypnotherapy because they easily drift off into deep, imaginative states.

Q. How many sessions will I need?

A. This will depend on you and also your individual needs and desires. Initially, we have an initial complimentary 30-minute consultation on Zoom to explore your issue, and you can ask any questions about the process. Then, we schedule an appointment for the hypnotherapy. Our session will be recorded for you to listen to at home - a minimum of 21 days is recommended. The number of sessions ranges from 1 to about 8, usually lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours long. Certain issues like smoking cessation or weight management will involve some preparation 'homework'.

Q. What does it cost?

A. £65 per session.

Q. How do I pay?

A. Payment is gratefully received by BACs, with a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the session.
